It’s OPEN THURSDAY on 23 June and we would love to welcome you to our studio. Find out about our international projects, see current work in progress by artist Jane Bizimana and learn about our new open call with Artists Connecting in Transition (ACT).
Artists Connecting in Transition information event
As part of the open studio, we will be running information sessions about ACT - a new international collaboration programme hosted by D6: Culture in Transit (UK), arthereistanbul (Turkey) and MedeArts (Jordan) and the Fanak Fund (who work across the Arab speaking world).
D6 is looking to select and host two visual artists currently based in the North East of England with lived experience of forced migration, exile or displacement who are interested in applying for the UK residencies. This drop-in event will be an opportunity to meet the team and have conversations about the project. To confirm a place, please email Andrea Carter, Lead Producer at [email protected].

Our open studio is part of OPEN THURSDAY, a pilot project by CVAN – Contemporary Visual Arts Network England. Following the successful launch of their quarterly Art Maps (a free map of Tyneside arts venues listing upcoming exhibitions and events), CVAN North East is organising a city-wide open event known as OPEN THURSDAY, where cultural and arts venues throughout Newcastle and Gateshead open their doors to the public.
