With a 30-year record of supporting visual artists and co-producing major international arts programmes, we connect the North of England to the rest of the world through innovative collaborations, powerful artwork and meaningful engagement.  

By finding common ground on issues of social and environmental justice, we develop programmes that give artists the time and space to work through complex subjects and build community through practice.

Projects

We develop projects with rigour, care and generosity, creating spaces to enable a deeper understanding of multiple lived experiences and perspectives.

Residencies

In our central Newcastle studios we regularly host local artists and visiting international artists in residence, supporting their development and artistic practice. 

Knowledge Sharing and networks

We believe in the value of collaboration and building networks to promote artistic and community exchange across borders. Nationally and internationally we are members and co-ordinators of networks to share and expand knowledge. 

collaborative doctoral AWARD

Supported by Northumbria University and the Northern Bridge Consortium,  the PhD focuses on colonialism, climate crisis and mass human migration through decolonial processes of curation.
We regularly share opportunities and open calls for artist residencies and collaborations, as well as project, team and board roles. 
Our beautiful event and meeting room in the heart of Newcastle is available to hire; and we also have  a wide range of digital equipment, tailored to artists and creatives.
