The late shows 2023
We're delighted to be part of this year's the Late Shows, when Newcastle and Gateshead's arts venues open their doors till late.
Come and join us to experience new work by artists who delve into issues that concern and connect us all. Through photography, video and installations, their work explores migration and identity, and the power structures that impact our environment.
All the works are from current projects with our partners in Cyprus, France, Jordan, Turkey, Ukraine and the UK. We're excited to give a preview of Henna Asikainen's Future Pasts ahead of her exhibition at Gallery North this June, and of Alexandra Krolikowska and Karolina Uskakovych's artistic responses for (Re)Grounding, which will be exhibited at Newcastle's The NewBridge Project later this year. The contributions from Amak Mahmoodian and Zariq Rosita-Hanif are digital commissions from their recent residencies for Artists Connecting in Transition. And our curator in residence Lucy Nychai shares her work in progress, Systems of Defence.
Light refreshments will be available and the team will be on hand. Spread the word and bring your friends!
