Samantha Moore
Doubled Up (2004) is an autobiographical animated documentary film about coping with twins.
A film about the pandemonium that a multiple pregnancy and birth can bring, and the filmmaker’s bewildered response. Love, panic and nappies. Lots of nappies.
Moore attempts to impose order upon chaos in the context of becoming a mother of multiples (twin boys). Acknowledging Mary Kelly’s Post-Partum Document, the work uses diagrams, layers and multiple perspectives to process chaotic information into a recognisable and functional structure.
Credits: Director: Samantha Moore,Voices: Stanley Anthony Bates, Archie Samuel Bates, Jane Denton RGN RM,Live Action: Jonathan Bates,Soundtrack and Original music: Adam Goddard
