Oleksandra Lytvyn
Oleksandra Lytvyn is one of the artists selected for Belonging - a new virtual exhibition that is part of our residency programme Artists Connecting in Transition (ACT).
Originally from Ukraine, Oleksandra is currently is based in Portugal. As a conceptual artist, she experiments with the border between performers and audience, performing and media art, narratives and movement, superficial and abstract. She is interested in the topics of outsiders, wellbeing, periphery, authenticity and most recently vulnerability.
She has a professional career in dance and has collaborated with many local and international organisations, such as the Ukrainian Contemporary Dance Platform, Lublin Dance Theater, Linz University of Art and Design, Candoco Dance Company, German Posttheater, European Dancehouse Network and Aerowaves.
She has a Masters degree in Social Sciences focussing on body expression and completed the US Advanced Laban Analysis program in 2020. Driven to learn more about ways to use imagination in dance and to work with non-professionals, she travelled to Israel to study Gaga in 2021.
