Safari here
Safari Here works with residents to rediscover their town, revealing and celebrating stories of the everyday life of a place through an engaging alternative guided tour in the same manner often found in celebrations of monuments, past history and sights in tourist guides. Visitors can meet the artists in an alternative tourist information centre that people can freely access, displaying objects and stories collected during their visit. Local residents become tour guides to illuminate things that are important and precious to them in their local community.
Safari Here does not imitate or dream about the ‘elsewhere’ but observes and focuses on the ‘here’. Take part in Desktop Gymnastics, a workout here and now in front of your computer inspired by the journey our Safari Here artists have taken so far.
