Research Residencies
Each year we support a number of artists to develop research for new works through short research residencies at our studio in Newcastle. We are pleased to announce that Nicola Singh and Cat Auburn have been selected to join us for our 2019 research residencies, as part of our programme There is Beauty in this Journey. >>

We worked with artists Juan delGado; Henna Asikainen and Arto Polus; and FanSHEN as part of our 2017 research residency programme.
Newcastle based artist collective FanSHEN, Rachel Briscoe and Dan Barnard, were in residence with us in February 2017, considering how we can create spaces for groups who never come into contact and who hold opposing views to encounter each other.
Finnish artist Henna Asikainen, working alongside Arto Polus, developed her ongoing work, which involves public performances and the creation of installations created from foraged natural materials in collaboration with refugees and asylum seekers.
London-based artist Juan delGado was in residence with us in January 2017, where he developed a new film programme around his recent work Altered Landscapes.
