launching the sanctuary and culture network
We're pleased to announce the launch of Sanctuary and Culture - a new programme supporting artists and bringing together the cultural and voluntary sectors in the North East to share knowledge and strengthen provision for creative professionals seeking sanctuary.
12pm-1.15pm
27th April 2021
Join us on the 27th April to find out more about our work as international visual art producers and the journey we have taken over recent years to develop Sanctuary and Culture. Come on a virtual tour of our newly renovated Newcastle based studio and meeting spaces dedicated to artists seeking sanctuary and hear about our future opportunities and ways to engage. Guest speakers, Hannah Barnes (Director of the West End Refugee Service) and Sadia Sikandar, D6’s Sanctuary and Culture Artist in Residence will also be joining the conversation.
We welcome you to join us and engage in this new programme, working towards equitable and sustainable artistic development and a more welcoming and hospitable region for refugees and individuals seeking asylum.
This event will take place online via Zoom and live streamed on Facebook and Youtube. A link to access the Zoom webinar will be sent via email to all attendees before the event.

Sanctuary and Culture is supported by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, Arts Council England, Community Foundation, the Newcastle Cultural Investment Fund and the DCMS Cultural Recovery Fund. We would also like to thank our generous donors who supported the Sanctuary and Culture studio renovation via Crowdfunder UK and all of our wonderful volunteers, including those from skillsmatch (https://skillsmatch.info/).
