kia redman

Kia Redman is a Barbados-based creative professional. She works as a camera operator at Bajans in Motion and a videographer for Acute Vision Inc. Through her passion for the moving image, Kia freelances as an animator and incorporates the colours, behaviours and vibrancy of her home into the dynamic mixed animation style that informs her artistic practice.

Having attained her BFA in Studio Art with first-class honours in 2017, Kia has since participated in local shows, regional residencies and international screenings in Trinidad & Tobago, Toronto and Beijing. Laced with a deceptively probing levity, Kia’s work unveils alternative perspectives on culture and belonging.

Kia is working with us as a CONTESTED DESIRES artist, taking part in residencies, workshops and exhibitions throughout the programme, culminating  in a final exhibition at Xarkis Festival, Cyprus.
