Ele Carpenter joined D6 for a 3-week research residency in 2008 to work on Open Source Embroidery.
The Html Patchwork is part of the Open Source Embroidery project based on the common characteristics of needlework crafts and open source computer programming.
The patchwork has been developed through a residency with D6, Newcastle and Access Space, Sheffield; and through workshops at: Banff New Media Institute, Canada; Gallery Glue, Newcastle; Access Space; D6; and through Facebook. The completed Html Patchwork was exhibited at the former HTTP Gallery, now Furtherfield, London 2008.
