Welcoming our new Associate ArtistS

We’re delighted to welcome our three new Associate Artists to D6. Dawn Felicia Knox, Amak Mahmoodian and Lucy Nychai join us to help shape and support our international visual arts programme and studio residencies.

Representing a diverse range of practice, the three artists will act as critical friends to D6, looking both deeply and tangentially at the intersection of our programme themes and ethics of engagement.

D6 works internationally to promote the value of art, questioning cultural narratives and raising environmental consciousness. The year ahead will see collaborations with partners and artists in Cyprus, Hungary, Italy, Jordan, Tunisia, Turkey and Ukraine to name a few. It is particularly pertinent that the Associate Artists bring a breadth of international experience with them, drawing on their backgrounds in the United States, Iran and Ukraine.

Over a period of two years, we will create opportunities to share thinking and create an approach to working together that is mutually beneficial. It is also a chance for the Associate Artists to support our artists in residence through feedback and dialogue. In previous years our Associate Artists have also represented D6 at national and international conferences on topics including cultural rights, representation of artists in exile and sharing their practice.

We look forward to working with Dawn, Amak and Lucy, which we know will be both stimulating and thoughtful, supportive and provocative. We thank them warmly for joining D6.
