ARTISTIC PROGRAMME
The Sanctuary and Culture programme supports artists through artist residencies and access to materials bursaries. These residency programme will continue welcoming artists from our region and beyond until 2025.
Sadia SikandarIn 2020-2021, visual artist Sadia Sikandar became our first artist in residence. 'Meraki' is a digital presentation of Sadia's work in progress, informed by her personal journey and unique experiences of navigating the hostile and complex asylum system as a woman within a different culture and society.

Jane BIZIMANAStockton-based artist Jane Bizimana's six month residency in 2022 was a chance to reconnect with her personal style and develop her practice in a new, spontaneous direction.

BURSARY PROGRAMMEWe support artists with small bursaries providing access to materials to continue their practice. To dates, bursaries have been awarded to artists from Iran and Colombia.
