sara baga

CONTESTED DESIRES artist Sara Baga is based in Portugal, and forges her artwork from her poetic and symbolic gaze at the world while keeping the core of creation in human ecology. Originally a communication designer trained as art director, she dove onto the grassroots movement for the last 11 years deepening her connection to the land and campaigning for environment, food sovereignty and indigenous rights. She appears in the artistic circuits either for the participatory arts, production (KijkRuimte, Tolhstuin Producties), with awarded films (Hortas Di Pobreza, Raquel) or to develop collaborations in the performative arts (Terra Livre, Kanoa, Bouchra Ouizguen).
