D6: culture in transit

creative europe, erasmus + and beyond, edinburgh, 22/05/2019

D6 was invited to take part in Creative Europe, Erasmus and Beyond, a seminar detailing case studies, an introduction to Erasmus Plus and other tips on working in Europe.  We shared our expertise on the Creative Europe programme by presenting our recent Cooperation Project, CORNERS. This project connected regions and organisations on the outer edges of Europe. It brought to the center areas that are outside of political, cultural and economical mainstreams, focusing on remote regions and small towns, drawing threads between people and places in the corners of Europe, from Taranto in Italy to Gdansk in Poland, from the Balkans to South East Northumberland. CORNERS brought together 55 artists from 11 countries to develop 12 new artistic co-creations. D6 connected North East England with more than 30 European cultural organisations and institutions to give voice to people who would otherwise be voiceless and to tell stories that would otherwise remain untold.
