Join us in signing the petition for the UK to join Creative Europe

For much of our working lives, D6 has developed international collaborations made possible by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.

The UK’s decision to withdraw from this programme has been a blow to many small and mid-scale cultural organisations across the regions and nations of the UK. Its unique funding structure allows multiple cross-sector collaborations between artists and cultural organisations across borders, placing the UK as an equal partner.

Last week a delegation of MEP’s visited the UK to explore the possibility of the UK rejoining the programme.

The Forum on EU-UK Cultural & Media Relations has just started a petition: UK to join the Creative Europe programme from 2027.
This is a vital opportunity for the arts and culture sector in the UK and EU to speak up on the need to rebuild closer cultural relations with Europe and pave the way for future collaboration between artists and organisations in the EU and UK.
Join us in signing this petition, and please share with your networks.

More about the Forum

The Forum on EU-UK Cultural and Media Relations aims to strengthen EU–UK cultural and media relations through a bottom-up approach, recognising the creative sector as vital to political, societal and economic ties. Its inaugural meeting was held in October 2025 ahead of the recent EU-UK Parliamentary Partnership Assembly in November 2025. It brings together organisations from both sides to exchange experience, share best practice and co-create policy recommendations that address common needs.

The Forum has joined forces with the European Movement UK, the largest pro-European grassroots organisation in the UK with over 26,000 members and over 250,000 supporters, to advocate for the UK to join the EU’s Creative Europe programme from 2027.

    What we Think

Our culture makes us who we are:  It defines our neighbourhoods, our nations, our characters, our tribes. The arts connect our places and people, revealing the stories that celebrate our differences and share our humanity.
