It is with great sadness and horror we watch what is unfolding in Ukraine and we send our heartfelt wishes to our friends and colleagues placed in this horrendous situation. D6: Culture in Transit has long standing relationships with artists and organisations in Ukraine’s cultural sector and beyond, and we were about to start a new collaboration.

(Re)Grounding – UK/Ukraine Season grant programme

With the support of the British Council, (Re)Grounding is a project in partnership with IZOLYATSIA, a non-profit, non-governmental platform for cultural initiatives, which is now temporarily on hold.

(Re)Grounding is an artistic and capacity building programme connecting post-industrial villages in the UK and Ukraine. We were due to send two UK artists to take part in artist residencies in the Dontesk Oblast (region) this summer and were planning to reciprocate the residencies in the UK.

IZOLYATSIA has posted this update with information on action that cultural organisations can take - https://izolyatsia.org/en/

The British Council’s statement is here - www.britishcouncil.org/about/press/ukraine

Useful information

This statement from the Ukrainian Institute also has practical information on how to help and support -  https://ui.org.ua/en/news-en/help-ukraine-2/

    What we Think

Our culture makes us who we are:  It defines our neighbourhoods, our nations, our characters, our tribes. The arts connect our places and people, revealing the stories that celebrate our differences and share our humanity.
