We take collaborative journeys with the artists and help foster new connections and opportunities for development.
From our studio in central Newcastle-upon-Tyne, we connect artists to a diverse group of local partners and allies to expand on thinking and offer expertise or inspiration. You can read more about our artist-centred approach to residencies here.
Artists are encouraged to develop their ideas and work at their own pace, often embracing the unplanned and unknown; we call this 'research as practice.'
We aim to mutually deepen and develop the relationships with artists over a number of months and very often years, by prioritising the development of ideas and practice over short-term interactions.
